Some contractor referral services can make over $1000 for one
construction lead. That's ridiculous, not all companies charge this
much, but I know one that does. I built the Stair Builders Directory, to

Get ready for this, the next year they wanted over $1000 for my
membership. I didn't even make enough money off my old membership to
cover the original costs. When these companies first started out, they
seemed to have the homeowner and contractors best interests in mind. Now
that they have grown into monster sized companies, they seem to only
have their best interests in mind and that's making money. It's just not
fair to the contractors or the homeowners.
Using the Stair Builders Directory, you will not be paying outrageous
fees like the ones paid at some contractor referral directory services.
With our low cost services, your advertising expenses as a contractor,
will not become such a large burden on your customers. All business
expenses in the stair building industry are passed on to the consumers
of their products. This is basic business survival.
As more homeowners become aware of the problems with contractor referral
services, they might think twice before using them. Their services
aren't free to all the homeowners, they're only free to some of the
